3 Reasons to Look Out for the 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid
There are many things you look out for in life, such as a speeding motorist before you hop off the curb, the sanitary condition of a friend’s kitchen before a meal, free lunches, and things that seem too good to be true. While most of these are negative, one thing you should look out for in a positive light is the 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid. After spending the year on hiatus in 2016, the Accord builds upon its winning hybrid formula from 2017 with some nice new features for 2018. In the hybrid market, it’s a true game changer.
Exceptional Gas Mileage
One thing that the 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid does better than the rest is offer exceptional fuel economy as only a hybrid can. Behind the workings of a 2.0-liter, Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine, a single electric motor, and a 1.3-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the hybrid offers some of the best fuel economy in the hybrid sedan class.
Unlike some of the other hybrids on the market that unabashedly want others to know you’re driving a hybrid, the Accord looks the same as its gas-powered sibling, which isn’t too shabby either in the gas mileage category.
Excellent Features at the Entry-Level
When you see a car commercial on television, you probably aren’t aware that the model they show is usually the fully loaded one and often costs $10,000 to $20,000 more than the price you’re quoted. Fortunately, you won’t have to worry about that with the Accord Hybrid. This year, the Japanese automaker ushers in a new, entry-level LX model which makes the vehicle available to those on a budget that still want to help save the planet.
With the LX, you still get some fantastic amenities such as 17-inch alloy wheels, LED low-beam headlights, remote start, the Honda Sensing driver-assist safety suite, a 17-cubic foot trunk, which is larger than last year’s model, and dual-zone climate control. If you compare this to your “wants” checklist, you should find that the Accord Hybrid crosses them off easily.
As you work your way into the higher trim levels of the Accord Hybrid, you’re greeted with some amenities that you may not find on cars that cost way more. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay highlight the infotainment offerings of the vehicle, allowing you to effortlessly connect your smartphone for communication, navigation, and entertainment purposes. Other highlights include heated front seats, leather upholstery, a head-up display, and more.
With all the amenities the 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid has to offer, you won’t even realize that you’re behind the wheel of a hybrid until you see how much cash you’ve saved on gas. So spend that money on something nice like flowers for the wife, sports tickets for the hubby, or give a bit of that premium stuff to the car that’s been so good to you.
